Male factor infertility – stem cells after varicocele repair?
Hi. Husband had varicocele repair 2 years ago (grade 3 left). Sperm improved slightly post-op but still teratozoospermia dominant (morphology 1–2%, motility 25%). We’ve done 1 IUI (negative) and considering IVF. Read about stem cell therapy to further improve testicular function after surgery. Does anyone know if it’s done in such cases and if it made a difference?

Similar story here - varicocele fixed, but morphology stayed very low. We opted for a stem cell protocol aimed at reducing inflammation and supporting Sertoli/Leydig cells. After 9 months, morphology rose to 6–8%, motility to 40%, which allowed decent ICSI results (3 high-quality embryos). Not all guys see that level of change, especially if damage was long-term.
This particular review looked credible and detailed https://stemplus.clinic/disease-treatment/male-infertility/ - follows one man’s parameters month by month after varicocele + regenerative treatment. Gave us realistic expectations. Get your husband’s latest Doppler and hormone panel to see if there’s still room for improvement before investing.
